ACEI is excited to announce that we have been invited to participate in two concurrent global citizenship education (GCED) events organized by the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) in partnership with UNESCO in Seoul, Republic of Korea from 5-6 September: the 3rd International Conference on GCED: Platform on Pedagogy and Practice and the Technical Consultation Meeting on the GCED Network!

About the 3rd International Conference on GCED
With the theme, "GCED in Every Corner of the World: Local-Contextualization of GCED," this conference will bring together over 500 education policy makers, global citizenship education experts, civil society organizations, and more to exchange knowledge, experiences, and resources useful for GCED, promote communities of practice in GCED across diverse educational settings, and mobilize broad-based support for accelerating the implementation of GCED.

Our Director of Global Schools First, Adrienne Henck, will co-facilitate a “Policy Talk” session on how to local-contextualize global citizenship education in national policy contexts.

About the Technical Consultation Meeting on the GCED Network
ACEI is proud to be a leading organization in the global citizenship education movement as one of the inaugural members of the International GCED Network and the only North America partner organization participating in the Technical Consultation Meeting on the GCED Network. This pivotal meeting will gather key institutions to share their activities on GCED with a vision to enable synergies and contribute to the realization of SDG 4.

Our Executive Director, Diane Whitehead, will share ACEI viewpoints on GCED with stakeholders and discuss ACEI’s Global Schools First program.  Learn more about Global Schools First here.
