Journal of Research in Childhood Education
Author Guidelines
Manuscripts may be submitted as E-mail attachments if saved as
Word or rich text format documents (send to sneuhart@uga.edu). Manuscripts sent by mail should be
submitted only if e-mail submission is not possible to the Editor: Stacey Neuharth-Pritchett, Associate Professor
and Graduate Coordinator, Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology,
The University of Georgia, 325Q Aderhold Hall, Athens, GA 30602.
To facilitate blind review, the
author(s) should limit all identifying materials within the body of the
manuscript and submit two files, one with the title page and the second with
the remainder of the manuscript.
The first page of text should carry the title with remaining pages
carrying a running head.
Manuscripts should be doublespaced, on 8 1/2" x 11" paper, and
should be between 10 and 30 pages in length including the reference list. Author(s) are required to provide a
100-200 word abstract. See
Guidelines for Reviewers inside.
The Publication Manual (5th ed.) of
the American Psychological Association provides the author(s) with guidelines
for format, style and ethics to be followed by the Journal. Copies of figures and tables are acceptable at submission;
however, upon acceptance the author(s) must provide camera-ready glossy prints
with the final revision of accepted manuscripts.
All manuscripts will be acknowledged
promptly. Only manuscripts
submitted solely to the Journal will be reviewed by the Editor or Associate Editor
and the Board of Consulting Editors.
Articles judged to be of substantial importance to those concerned with
the education of children and of the highest quality and ethical standards will
be accepted. Normally, the review
process takes three months, after which the author or senior author will be
promptly notified of the editorial decision. Author(s) are requested to transfer copyright to ACEI.
