PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD — Patty Smith Hill

(Established in recognition of Patty Smith Hill)

A former president of the International Kindergarten Union (ACEI’s founding organization), Patty Smith Hill was a renowned classroom teacher, administrator, university professor, and author. Criteria for nomination and selection of the ACEI Patty Smith Hill Award honoree include having exemplary, consistent contributions to the organization; achievements in the field of childhood education that have brought recognition to ACEI; and having held membership in the organization for 20 years or more.

This prestigious award is intended to recognize extensive professional achievement. The award is granted for significant contributions to the field of education, for demonstrated exceptional leadership, and for advancing ACEI as a leading professional education association. Achievements should demonstrate impact over a long term and reflect the applicant’s far-reaching or broad scope of professional influence.
Nominations are due December 1st.

OUTSTANDING MEMBER SERVICE AWARD

This award recognizes outstanding contributions made to the association by an ACEI member during the preceding three years. Members will be awarded for their contributions toward raising the association’s profile or through significant activities that reflect the mission, vision, and guiding principles of ACEI.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD

The Student Leadership Award recognizes outstanding student members of ACEI whose leadership activities have been focused on child advocacy. Child advocacy efforts must demonstrate and reflect the mission, vision, and guiding principles of ACEI.

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

(Generously sponsored by Nancy Bartlett Hitch)

The Student Scholarship Award is given to students who have excelled academically and demonstrate outstanding attributes associated with scholarship. Students should also be able to show promise as an emerging educator by describing their involvement in extracurricular and volunteer activities related to their professional goals. This scholarship is intended to help deserving ACEI students have the opportunity to develop and explore their professional goals by receiving financial assistance to attend an ACEI event.

MINI-GRANTS FOR SPECIAL PROJECTS

Mini-grants are awarded to ACEI members to support the implementation of outstanding education related projects. Project descriptions are evaluated on the basis of their quality, importance to children’s education, and their potential for achieving impact. Projects can either be direct service projects, projects to improve classroom instruction, or projects to enhance teacher education.

Applications are due December 1st.

ROLL OF HONOR

This recognition is reserved for deceased ACEI members who, during their lifetime, served the association, and the profession of education, with impeccable distinction and unwavering commitment. Lifetime achievements must demonstrate considerable dedication that extends far above and beyond the call of duty.

There is no submission deadline. Nominations are accepted by ACEI Headquarters Office throughout the year.
