International Literacy Day - September 8, 2008
The theme for International Literacy Day 2008 is "Literacy is the best remedy." UNESCO and its partners are highlighting the connection between literacy and health, with a strong emphasis on epidemics and communicable diseases such as HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis.
