Roll of Honor Award

Guidelines

1.    Award Description
This recognition is reserved for deceased ACEI members who, during their lifetime, served the association, and the profession of education, with impeccable distinction and unwavering commitment. Lifetime achievements must demonstrate considerable dedication that extends far above and beyond the call of duty.

2.    Award Distribution
Nominations for the Roll of Honor can be submitted throughout the year.

3.    Review Process
Nominations can be submitted by ACEI Board and Committee Chairs. All nominations should be sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Nominations are then forwarded by the Headquarters Office to the Executive Board. Approval is granted by the Executive Board.

4.    Nominations
Those who are considering nominating an ACEI member should be able to:

  • List the professional positions held by the person being nominated. Explain the significance of positions held to the field of education and how that person’s contributions impacted the profession of education or children, directly
  • Define the characteristics that endowed the person’s lifetime commitment to the association with special meaning
  • Describe how the person’s lifetime contributions to the association went above and beyond the call of duty.

Examples may include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Demonstrated significant leadership in ACEI at either the local, state, or national level
  • Held positions at the local and state level board of education, allowing this person to directly impact a wider community of children through policy making or advocacy
  • Developed programs and curriculum that directly impacted children and significantly influenced the field of education.

5.    Requirements
The ACEI member being nominated must meet these requirements:

  • Be a deceased ACEI member who held membership for 20 years or longer
  • Served the association with impeccable distinction and unwavering commitment through contributions over a lifetime
  • Demonstrated contributions to the field of childhood education.

6.    Restrictions
Awarded only to members who are deceased.

7.    Due Date
There is no application deadline. Nominations are accepted by ACEI Headquarters Office throughout the year.

8.    Recognition
Recognized individuals will have their names inscribed on the Roll of Honor and their biography included in the Book of Remembrances.

9.    Application
It is preferable to e-mail your application.  Download the Word file found at the link below, type in the appropriate information (copying and pasting in information such as essays, reference letters, nomination letters), and e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
