Professional Achievement Award Patty Smith Hill

Guidelines

1.    Award Description
This prestigious award is intended to recognize extensive professional achievement. The award is granted for significant contributions to the field of education, for demonstrated exceptional leadership, and for advancing ACEI as a leading professional education association. Achievements should demonstrate impact over a long term and reflect the applicant’s far-reaching or broad scope of professional influence.

2.    Award Distribution
There is one award presented each year. Applications not accepted on their first review may be placed in the applicant pool the following year.

Nominations can be submitted by ACEI members. All nominations should be sent to
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Nominations are then forwarded by the Headquarters Office to the Awards Committee. The Awards Committee reviews and recommends finalists. Approval is granted by the Executive Board.

4.    Nominations

  • Those submitting an application should be able to:
  • Describe in detail the significant achievements, impact, and contributions that the nominee has made to the profession of education over his or her lifetime
  • Describe how the contributions of the nominee further the mission, vision, and guiding principles of ACEI and serve as an example of exceptional leadership.
  • Examples may include but are not limited to those listed below:
  • Involvement in legislative activities, policymaking, or advisory committees, or other international, national, or broad-scale advocacy efforts in advancing education
  • Significant contribution to the field of education through publications and/or international presentations extending beyond ACEI
  • Outstanding leadership at the local, national, or international level.

5.    Requirements
The ACEI member being nominated must meet these requirements:

  • ACEI member for 20 years or more
  • Demonstrate significant contributions to the field of education
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership
  • Demonstrate outstanding achievements made toward advancing ACEI as a leading professional education association.

6.    Restrictions
All nominees must have been ACEI members for a period of 20 years or more. The ACEI Executive Board may not nominate individuals for this award and cannot be awarded during their term of board service.  Those who are serving on the Awards committee may not apply and will not be eligible until one year following the end of their term of service.

7.    Due Date
The deadline for nominations to be received by ACEI’s Headquarters Office is DECEMBER 1st.

8.    Recognition
The award is presented at ACEI’s Annual Conference. When possible, the awardee will be highlighted in ACEI publications or news.

9.    Application
