ACEI ELIZABETH BREATHWAITE
MINI-GRANT APPLICATION

Once a year the ACEI Executive Board awards up to two (2) mini-grants of a maximum of $500 each to ACEI members in good standing. The grants will be awarded to members for the implementation of outstanding educational experiences for children. Priority will be given to those applicants who have not been awarded a grant in the past three years. Applications need to be received at Headquarters by February 15. Applicants will be notified by August 1. Grants will be distributed to successful applicants by September 30.

To be considered for a grant, proposals must reach ACEI Headquarters by February 15 and should be no more than four double-spaced, typewritten pages.

The proposals should include this completed form and:

  1. Title of Project.
  2. Statement describing the importance of the proposed project to children's education.
  3. Detailed description of the proposed project.
  4. Description of the potential outcome of the project.
  5. List of budget items. Note any matching funds obtained.
  6. Description of how the project will be shared with colleagues.

Funded proposals must be described in an article to be published in one of ACEI's publications or presented in a session at the Annual Conference. Publication of projects supported by an ACEI Elizabeth Breathwaite Mini-Grant must include the following note: "Partial funding of this project was provided by the Association for Childhood Education International through an Elizabeth Breathwaite Grant."

All applications will be evaluated using the following criteria:

  1. Importance of the project to the education of children.
  2. Quality of the project as evidenced by the adequacy of the description of:
    a. The project
    b. The project's potential outcome(s), and
    c. The plan for sharing the project and its results.

Please mail application, with a non-returnable photo (or jpg) so that it is received at Headquarters no later than February 15.
