ACEI Global Guidelines Expansion

In May 2012, ACEI members Dolores Stegelin and Belinda Hardin met with Luciano Cecconi and Andrea Pintus at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, as well as Rossana Allegri, the Early Childhood Program Coordinator of the School District of Parma, to discuss ways they could collaborate on the ACEI Global Guidelines Assessment (GGA) Study that is currently taking place in three world regions and 10 countries (Peru, Chile, Argentina, Guatemala, Mexico, China, Thailand, India, Taiwan, and the United States) in collaboration with Doris Bergen at Miami University.

The group agreed to proceed with securing funding that would support the participation of 4-5 additional sites from the European Union in the international study. Also, the Italian research team plans to conduct another study to gain additional insights from parents and teachers locally about the effectiveness of the GGA. In addition, the group plans to create an international research team with representatives from across world regions interested in conducting research using the GGA.
